State Tournament Recap

This was the first time a team from Wickes had won the state tournament. It was an experience of a lifetime. We had a record this year of 40 - 2. Our two losses came against Nashville (Class AAA) and Union (Class AA). We were small in size but played defense like we were big.

All the teams in the state tournament were listed and lit up on the state of Arkansas board. As the teams got beat, their lights were turned out.

We FINALLY made it to the Road to the Rock, and it was EVERYTHING it was hyped up to be!!!

Judge Stanley donated the sign to the girls to put up on Hwy 71. It was presented to them at a cookout given in their honor by Union Bank of Mena and many other merchants in Wickes and the surrounding communities.

The state trophy - held up proudly. This was accomplished because of a lot of hard work, dedication and a little bit of faith that they could accomplish it if they only worked together as a team.
